About Rev. Dr. J. L. Williams

Pastor Jonathon Lamark Williams was born January 8, 1975 to Ms. Gwendolyn Williams and Mr. Frank Spears. He is a native of Hollandale, MS, where he was raised by his godparents, the late Walter and Sadie Wallace. Pastor Williams is a highly educated and ministry trained Man of God. He believes strongly in advanced education, especially when it comes to the works of the Lord. 

 

Pastor Williams received and accepted his call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1993 while ministering as a guest soloist at a revival at the Bear Marsh M. B. Church in Carrollton, MS. He labored in, and was groomed for ministry by several seasoned pastors and preachers. He has served as a faithful Senior Pastor to both Sunrise M. B. Church of Greenville, MS and Evergreen M. B. Church of Hollandale, MS.

 

Pastor Williams has preached all over this country for many well known pastors and leaders. He’s shared this Gospel of Jesus Christ to people from almost every walk of life. His personality is warm and inviting. Though he’s educated, he still possess the common touch to reach all people. 

 

Pastor Williams is charged with proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encouraging the church body to do so as well. He is also responsible for guiding the spiritual development of the congregation, for providing pastoral care in meeting the needs of the people in the church and community and for providing administrative leadership.

 

Pastor Williams is a business entrepreneur. He’s the proud owner of J Williams Trucking, LLC of Cordova, TN and Big J Towing and Recovery LLC in Memphis, TN.

 

Pastor Williams is a highly respected and much-loved individual in his community and state. He’s served on several boards of different civic and religious forums.

 

Pastor Williams is married to Dr. Octavia Angelle Williams. They are the proud parents of one daughter, Nadja Rose Williams.

Pastor Williams earnest desire is to continue utilizing both his servant leader’s heart and passion for communicating God’s inerrant Word through expository preaching and penetrating teaching. It is also his desire to continue shepherding and working with a team of laypersons and staff to develop effective ministries in the church and in the community.

 

Pastor Williams lives by this creed, “Life Is Meant to Be Lived”.

First Lady Dr. Octavia Williams

First Lady Octavia Williams was born on January 21, 1981 to Carl and Margaret McCalla. She is a native of Clinton, Maryland. Dr. Octavia Williams attended High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland, and completed her Pre-Pharmacy curriculum at Stevenson University. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2004, and completed her residency in Ambulatory Care at the Memphis VA Medical Center in 2005.

 

Dr. Williams has served in various roles as a pharmacist. She has practiced as a home infusion pharmacist, specialty pharmacist, consultative and hospice pharmacist. First Lady Williams has a heart for people, and is passionate about helping and serving others in her community. She is committed to making an impact and creating positive change. Her passion to help, has led her to develop and coordinate several successful outreach projects. She has taken that same passion and desire to help with her to Rockford, Illinois.

 

First Lady Williams, is committed to being a part of the solution to Rockford’s most challenging issues. Most recently, she has started “Saving Rockford’s Youth.” This program targets youth, ages 10-18 years of age, and is designed to provide them with a platform to talk about “real issues,” learn skillsets to become successful adults, and give back to their communities through volunteer services. Dr. Williams believes that collaborative efforts can create positive change. She is currently working to help Pilgrim Baptist Church develop successful partnerships with several non-profit organizations to ensure that Rockford’s future is bigger, better, and brighter.

 

Dr. Octavia Williams is married to Pastor Jonathon Williams. They are the proud parents of one daughter, Nadja Rose Williams.

 

First Lady Williams is inspired and led by the word of God. She is a firm believer that we must continue to move forward to create positive change, because nothing ever grows in our comfort zone
